Summer Camp information 

In order to make the information easy to find we are creating this special webpage just for you Summer Campers!

June 29, 9:30 meet at Publix, Class A, with packed lunch and cash for dinner.

First Stop is at Black Creek Scout Reservation in North Georgia. We are staying in staff housing, have Sunday’s clothes and sleeping bag for overnight. We will eat in Slyvania there’s a few choices for dinner (bring cash for dinner).

Sunday we will travel the 2 ½ hours to Camp Barstow. Our campsite is Congaree, there are adirondack and hammock shelters. May need to take turns with hammock shelters if all Scouts want to use them.

On top of twilight activities:

• Sunday: opening campfire
• Monday: Cowboy Action Shooting, Vespers
• Tuesday: Pavilion Party
• Wednesday: Bull Moose Hike and Barstowree competition (in Hawaiian spirit!)
• Thursday: OA meeting and then OA serves ice cream to all
• Friday: closing campfire

Monday – Wednesday lunch you will be in your first bundle, same scouts whole merit badge time…no switching classes!  Wednesday afternoon – Friday, will be your second bundle.

All boys over 14 are asked to have the Cowboy Action Waiver signed, even if you’re not interested today in shooting. Don’t want to change your mind and not have your parent’s signature.

What to pack:

1. OA scouts need their sashes!
2. Snacks for road trip!
3. Small fans, can be electric.
4. Headphones.
5. Any extra patches you want to trade!

LIMITED Space in the van. One van + all gear + 9 people.

Pack tight.

YOU DO NOT need: tents, chairs, mess kits

We want to match as a patrol. These are the colors for scout shirts -picked for each day:

• Sunday: uniform and purple
• Monday: blue
• Tuesday: green
• Wednesday: orange
• Wednesday PM spirit theme: Hawaiian, we already have the leis, chant, etc.
• Thursday: 4^th of July: red
• Friday: pink
• Saturday: uniform and Barstow tshirt for drive home.

Review the what to bring list! Everyone asked to bring one card/board game.

Review the camp inspection list…we want to earn our Honor award.

There will be an extra $50 charged to each scout account to cover Saturday lodging, gasoline and return trip meals.

July 6 return to North Port. 9 hour drive, without stops. ETA will depend on when we get out of camp, traffic and weather.
